The U.S. Army VEF is first and foremost a historical organization honoring the service and sacrifice of those who served in World War I.

[1] The U.S.VEF is custodian of the corporate charter and several records of the Veterans of WW1 of the USA, Inc. by Act of the 85th  Congress of the United Sates July 18, 1958 and certified by the National Archives and Records Association. As such, it claims a historical and legacy connection. However, custody does not confer owenrship.
